Is Adolph Rupp really Angelina Jolie’s dad?

In the print issue of the Duke Chronicle today (March 3, 2008) there is a box item about “The 800 Club”.

The Chronicle notes that Krzyzewski joins Bobby Knight, Dean Smith, Adolph Rupp, Jim Phelan and Eddie Sutton on the sport’s most exclusive list (all coaches pictured from left to right).

There’s a problem however. Take a look at the picture and see if you don’t recognize Angelina Jolie’s dad, Jon Voight. The actor played the legendary Kentucky head basketball coach in the 2006 film “Glory Road

The actor may have some resemblance to the coach, but Jon Voight is not Adoph Rupp.

Duke battled back from a 13-point second half deficit to defeat NC State 87-86 in the RBC Center.

Tough loss for NC State

The Blue Devils took their first lead of the game after Nelson hit two free throws, giving the Blue Devils an 87-86 advantage. The Pack had a costly turnover. Fells, looking for McCauley in the post, threw an errant pass and Duke took over with just over 40 seconds remaining. NC State chose not to foul and played solid defense, forcing a missed jumper by Scheyer with five seconds left. Fells grabbed the rebound but didn’t call a timeout, and the best shot NC State could get was a midcourt heave from McCauley as time expired
